Wow! What a poor choice for a work area. Take it inside. Get a clean, clear bench. A container to hold the little parts and something to contain parts as you spray them clean / capture the run off, etc. Nice detail, good camera shots/views but working in the dirt with small parts is not a best practice ever. Always a good idea to replace the sealing gaskets rather than clean and reuse the old ones. Thanks for taking us through the R&R

Thanks for the breakdown... Very useful to watch this before I attempted mine... Although.... Mine has a different issue... It floods the entire engine whilst not being used. To the point the cylinder is fuel locked and the fuel find it's way too the engine oil. Hopefully I'll see the problem. Thanks for sharing... 👍👌

I’ve had the same problem over the years with small engines. The gel comes from the ethanol and will form if it sits for a long period of time. Get non ethanol fuel and it will fix the problem.

Thanks for the video. My engine was still very clean, so I just removed the bowl while the carb was still on the engine, cleaned a little and made sure the float was moving, put the bowl back on and she fired right up.

Hey I went to start my log splitter and the pull cord was very hard to pull I did pull it once but no more I noticed gas coming from the carburetor so I pulled it off cleaned it still nothing so I decided remove the spark plug and I noticed that there was fuel running out of the spark plug hole can you help

I have an '09 Shadow Spirit with 40k miles. There are guys on the Honda Shadow forum telling tales of running for hours at 80-90 mph. I know that mine is starting to get high strung around 70-75 mph. Probably a good thing these don't come with tachometers. These are great back road bikes but not great interstate mile eaters. At least not if you have some mechanical empathy. Great that you have a story to tell though! Ride safe!
